AGAPE YOUTH RANCH WORK PROJECTS - 2007 / 2008:
In an effort to help all those involved in the construction of Agape Youth Ranch, plus those groups that might consider specific projects for their group, the following lists outline the various projects that either have yet to be completed and those that need to be started at the Ranch. It would be great if, in the coming year, individuals and/or groups would review these projects and commit some time during this next year to come to the Ranch and complete their chosen project(s). This would be a great activity for a church mission outreach, men's group, youth group, or a worthwhile project for a bunch of friends to accomplish together.
DOG KENNELS:
- Cut concrete for toilet and bathtub drains
- Plumbing for restroom sink and toilet, and the dog wash sink and tub
- Run water lines from outside to all the above
- Frame 2x4's along wall of restroom, sink and tub to run above plumbing
- Install green board around tub; install plastic paneling
- Build sink counters from existing cabinet material
- Install countertop and water fixtures
- Put electric outlets with GFI in counter area and restroom
- Install small gas water heater with propane tank under sink
- When all the above is done, put T-111 siding on walls of grooming room and restroom
- Ceiling insulation (project to be done by Sierra Vista Boy Scouts)
- 3/4" PVC line to dog training yard for sprinklers and spigot by door and to coolers
- Water line to dog runs with spigot installed in the middle of the runs
- Reset dog run trough so the overlap is on the down slope
- Connect inside dog cage cooler
- Connect outside sewer line from building and dog run trough to septic tank
- Connect electric, water and sewer outlet for RV parking spot next to septic tank area
- Construct a shade screen over dog runs
- Connect electric service to the east end electric service
HORSE FACILITIES:
Inside Horse Barn:
- Install Paneling on stall walls
- Build stall doors
- Build separation walls, leave separation walls for stalls #9 and #10 open
- Reset stall walls and door bars
- Stain all the wood surfaces
- Run water line to all stalls for automatic water tanks
- 12"x12" floor pads for each stall
- Frame 2nd tack room and install electric outlets
Outside Horse Stalls (6):
- Weld support pipe for frame, 12'x 12' stalls
- Screw roof panels on (forest green)
- Paint the Horse Barn white
- Run water lines to stalls with spigot
Wash Racks (2):
- Run water lines to each wash rack with spigot
- Weld cross bar for each rack
Arena Bleachers:
- Design and build bleachers (approximately L15'x W12'x H12'-16')
- Weld supports for shade cover
- Screw roof panels on (Forest Green panels)
Hay Storage Shade Cover:
- Weld supports (approximately W40'x L20'x H12'-16')
- Screw roof panels on (Forest Green panels)
ANIMAL PENS (4):
- Fence for stalls located between chicken coop and arena
- Shade panels (Forest Green)
CHICKEN COOP :
- Level pad, 25'x15'
- Pour slab, 10'x15'
- Frame building and roof
- Fence chicken yard with fence cover
- Build roosting cages
- Run water line from 2" line
- Install electric from east main service
FENCING:
- Weld cross bar arena at the west gate
- Gate south drive at SW corner of Morgan Ranch Rd and New Major Way
- Install south pasture divide fence (450')
- Paint fencing white
- Clear pasture of old fencing and stack
MAINTENANCE YARD:
- Level ground, 16" off high end + berm, 100' X 75'
- Set fence posts, 8' apart, 71/2' high
- Set supports for shade cover and frame
- Pour cement slab, 40'x23'
- Weld fence rails, 2 rails
- Fence panels, 71/2', 6" in ground
- Secure roof panels with screws
- Reset water and electric lines to new service
- Run 100amp service from Conner's Bldg and hook up
- Install lights and outlets
- Build 10' gate
TWO BEDROOM STAFF HOUSE:
- Finish laminate flooring
- Install baseboard molding
- Install closet shelving & rods
- Install light-switch covers
- Install outside door trim
- Apply sealant to kitchen counter tile
- Install towel racks & vanity shelving above toilet
- Install ceiling light rings
- Install microwave above stove
- Install fire sprinkler heads and cover
- Caulk around kitchen sink
- Paint outside of house (ivory)
THREE BEDROOM at STAFF HOUSE:
- Finish fireplace tile and caulk
- Install crown molding and floor molding under kitchen cabinets
- Install fire sprinkler heads and covers
- Replace dishwasher
- Spigot main water line to house
- Paint outside of house (ivory)
- Grade driveway; put down aggregate stone
STORAGE/WASH SHED:
- Run water and sewer lines from staff house
- Install pre-slab plumbing
- Pour slab
- Frame and roof (Forest Green roof & ivory sides), T-111 sides and metal roof panels
- Install plumbing fixtures
- Install electrical (lights & outlets)
- Set doors and windows
- Run gas line
- Install insulation
- Put up T-111 wall panels and ceiling
CONNOR'S BUILDING:
- Organize the workshop tools & building materials
- Install new flooring on stairwell and in the upstairs dorm
- Finish stairwell railing
- Paint the inside wall facing the workshop
- Install vent covers over bathroom exhaust fans
- Install GFI outlet in the kitchens
- Finish dorm sinks
- Install bug screen on dayroom window in dorm
- Need to locate: full-size Futon mattress for dorm bunkroom
- Install window shutters (Forest Green)
- Build a wall to separate the activity area from the workshop
- Repaint the inside of the 3-bedroom staff house
- Re-stone face and hearth of fireplace
- Need: large refrigerator and separate ice maker
INFRASTRUCTURE FOR EAST END OF RANCH
ELECTRIC
- Trenching main east end service line, 800amps, 1000 ft
- Run electric line to phone switching shed from Connors bldg, 60 amps, 850ft
- Run electric line to maintenance yard from Connors bldg, 100amp, 250 ft
- Run electric line to Phase 2 Staff House from Connors bldg, 100amp, 250 ft
- Run electric line to Phase 2 bunkhouse, east main service, 200amp, 250 ft
- Run electric lines to chicken coop and dog kennels, east main service, 800 ft
SEWER
- Trench main sewer line from bunk house to main leach field
- Test main leach fields
- Trench leach field
- Install Septic tank Phase 2 bunkhouse
- Connect Septic tank and line to main sewer line, Phase 2 Staff House
- Director's house - trench Sewer lines to leach field east of Phase 1 Staff House
- Director's house - Leach field tested and trenched
- Director's house - install septic tank
IRRIGATION
- Set irrigation water lines by zone
- Run 2" water line north pasture and to upper east end
- Dead tree removal and planting new trees, forming water wells around each
- Fertilizing
WATER SYSTEMS
- Trench 3" line to east end put in shut off valves from north well
- Connect 3" line with 2" line from south well on east and west ends with shut off valves
- Connect RV line with main 3" line
- Upgrade system to ADEQ public water system
EXCAVATION
- Dig drainage channel to north pasture from east drive
- Build retention basin - north pasture
- Grade driveway to Activity bldg, 25' wide and parking lot
- Grade bldg pads for Phase 2 bunkhouse, Phase 2 Staff House and Director's house
